Caption: This temperature graph shows minimum, maximum, and average water temperatures of the North Fork Battle Creek below the North Battle Creek Feeder Diversion Dam in 1998. Temperatures were suitable for incubation of winter run eggs which would hatch by June 30. Adults spring chinook could utilize this reach during late spring and summer as average water temperatures were ideal at this location (<61 F). Water temperatures at higher elevations tend to be cooler and this is the highest reach accessible to chinook salmon. See Info Links for more information on temperature thresholds.
