Caption: The chart above shows the results of a July 24, 2002 dive surveys in lower Red Cap Creek and the coldwater refugia in the mainstem Klamath at the creek's mouth. Adult and juvenile steelhead and Chinook were observed in the coldwater refugia, but the creek contained only young-of-the-year steelhead. Fifteen sick Chinook were observed in the refugia. Overall, there were more salmonids in the coldwater refugia than in the river, although coho were found only in the creek. Data were provided by the Karuk Tribe. See Info Links for more information.
