Caption: The maximum daily water temperature of lower Independence Creek, 5000 feet upstream of the mouth, from 1992-1994 is displayed above. Independence Creek maintained cool water temperatures even in very dry years such as 1992 and 1994. Temperatures exceeded stressful only for brief durations in these years and not at all in 1993.
