| Caption: Trinity River fall Chinook salmon escapement has been estimated by the California Department of Fish and Game since 1977. Only fall Chinook that enter the hatchery and are spawned are counted as hatchery returns. Hatchery fish that stray to spawn in the wild may inflate "natural" spawning numbers.
