    |
Caption:  North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board staff collected water temperature data at Highway 263 in 1992 with a continuous recording device. The stressful limit for juvenile salmonids used is 20 degrees C (68 F), based on McCullough (1999). Water temperatures were stressful for more than one half the 168 hours in each week from the second week in June through mid-August in 1990. Data are taken from Gwynne (1993). Click on Info Links for more information. Compare the number of weeks where stressful levels are almost constantly exceeded between 1992 and 1995 (see next Topic).
